Charlene Simpson

Neurofeedback Specialist

Charlene provides EEG Neurofeedback training services to several rehab facilities in and around Malibu, as well as privately at her Malibu office, and “on location” as needed.  Although she specializes in helping recovering alcoholics and addicts, Charlene has worked with all ages and abilities including athletes wanting to gain the edge on the competition, actors/musicians looking to “wow” their audiences, children struggling with attention and focus in school, and celebrated CEO’s seeking peak performance.
Charlene is certified by the NTCB as a Neurofeedback Specialist. She received her BA degree from Hollins University with a double major in Economics and Spanish. As she was pursuing her Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University, she gave birth to her son, Charlie, who was
subsequently diagnosed with Autism.

In her quest to find help for him, she discovered Neurofeedback.  Charlene was inspired by the remarkable progress she witnessed in her son as a result of his Neurofeedback training, so much so that she ultimately became a Neurofeedback provider herself, and has been working in the field since 2009.  Additionally, Charlene is active in her own recovery program, and is grateful to report that she has been clean and sober since 2007.

DOMINIC MARQUEZ-NECOECHEA

Neurofeedback Technician

Ever since he can recall, Dominic has been fascinated with the brain, especially as it relates to achieving peak performance in sports…

Dominic began his quest early, as an athlete and baseball scholarship recipient of San Diego Christian College. However, just as the pro-baseball teams were scouting him as a potential recruit, Dominic’s dreams of playing pro were cut short by a career-ending injury. This forced Dominic to take a hard look at revising his future career path; and using his Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Dominic discovered his passion for helping other athletes achieve their own peak performance capabilities.

Dominic’s mission was to take his pro-athlete clients further than simply teaching how to build mental strength and a competitive mindset, and this is how he stumbled upon neurofeedback training. After sitting for more than 20 neurofeedback sessions with Charlene, Dominic felt transformed and better than he had ever felt in all of his young years.

Dominic convinced Charlene to take him under her wing, and he was eventually trained on how to properly operate a Brainpaint neurofeedback system. With additional coursework, supervision, and upon completion of 500 neurofeedback internship hours, Dominic was ultimately certified as a Neurofeedback Technician by the NTCB (Natural Therapies Certification Board) and became a neurofeedback provider himself.

Dominic was subsequently offered the position of neural rehabilitator at MUSE Treatment Center, where he continued to provide neurofeedback sessions and went on to be trained and certified as a provider of additional therapeutic modules, including biofeedback and TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation). Furthermore, Dominic worked as a group facilitator for MUSE and provided educational groups to their clients struggling with mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
